Furever Home is a user-friendly and accessible mobile platform designed to empower, inspire, and educate individuals about the rewarding experience of pet rescue. At Furever Home, we are dedicated to simplifying the adoption process and making it more accessible to everyone.
Our mission is to connect individuals with the perfect animal companion that complements their lifestyle while ensuring that every pet finds the love and care they deserve. We maintain a consistent branding experience across all our mobile platforms, featuring the familiar logo and colours you already know and love, delivering a seamless and welcoming experience every time.

BRAINSTORMING
When brainstorming FureverHome, I wanted to create more than just an app. I envisioned a platform that would bridge the gap between shelters and adopters, making pet adoption more accessible and intuitive. I thought about the challenges people face when searching for the perfect pet: limited access to shelter information, cumbersome adoption processes, and a lack of connection with the animals themselves. The idea was to simplify the journey, combining modern technology with heartfelt purpose to give every animal a chance at finding their "furever" home while creating a seamless and joyful experience for adopters.

MISSION
THE LOGO
The Furever Home logo was born out of a creative challenge: we were only allowed to use a maximum of two shapes, and our logo had to be dynamic and modular, meaning it can be rearranged into other logo variations. Embracing this limitation, I chose circles and semi-circles as the foundation for the design. Using these simple shapes, I crafted representations of various animals, each uniquely formed yet cohesive in style. The minimalistic approach not only highlighted the diversity of pets but also gave the logo a playful and approachable feel. This constraint sparked innovation, resulting in a design that’s both modern and memorable, perfectly capturing the heart of Furever Home
BUILDING THE APP
The initial wireframes for FureverHome laid the groundwork for the app’s user experience, but there’s still room for refinement. While the screens focused on functionality such as browsing pets, filtering searches, and connecting with shelters, some areas feel underdeveloped. For instance, the layout of pet profiles might benefit from a more engaging visual hierarchy. Additionally, incorporating more interactive elements, like swipe gestures or call-to-action buttons, could enhance usability. These wireframes provide a solid starting point but will require iteration to fully capture the seamless and inviting experience we’re aiming for.
FINAL MAIN SCREENS
The final main screens of Furever Home combine a sleek, modern design with user-friendly navigation. From the pet discovery page to detailed profiles and shelter connections, each screen is crafted to make the adoption process seamless and enjoyable. For the final wireframes, I ended up adding in more interactive elements such as the swiping feature on the pets, and much more of a clean and simple space.
Designing the desktop view for Furever Home was a thought provoking yet rewarding experience. Transitioning from mobile to a larger screen required me to rethink the layout to ensure the design remained visually appealing, consistent, and functional. To achieve this, we had to learn Figma’s Auto Layout feature, which became an essential tool in resizing and reorganizing components.
Auto Layout allowed me to dynamically adjust spacing, alignment, and scaling to fit the larger desktop view without losing the clean, user-friendly aesthetic. Mastering this tool not only streamlined the process but also enhanced my design skills, resulting in a responsive and cohesive interface across devices.

WHAT I LEARNED
Designing FureverHome was an incredible learning journey that pushed me to expand both my technical and creative skills. One of the most valuable lessons was mastering Figma’s Auto Layout, which completely transformed how I approached responsive design. It taught me how to create flexible, scalable layouts that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes, from mobile to desktop. Beyond the technical tools, I gained a deeper understanding of user experience and the importance of simplicity in design. I also learned how to balance creativity with functionality, ensuring every element serves a purpose while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. This project showed me how to adapt to challenges, embrace new tools, and refine my work through iteration.
